Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking a Major Projects Programme Delivery Lead on an interim basis in the West Midlands. The role focuses on senior leadership across regeneration, infrastructure and place-based programmes with hybrid working (3 days on site) for a 9-month assignment.

You will drive operational readiness for Metro Phase 2 and Dudley Interchange, establish an integrated Major Projects Programme and lead governance, risk and reporting to enable tangible delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Senior leader with proven track record in regeneration or infrastructure programmes.
• Experience delivering complex public-sector initiatives and placing governance at the center.
• Ability to influence across organisations and drive delivery across multi-stakeholder groups.

Our client is seeking an experienced Major Projects Programme Delivery Lead to take a senior role in delivering one of the West Midlands' most significant regeneration and infrastructure programmes.

This is a unique opportunity to help maximise the impact of Metro Phase 2 and Dudley Interchange, using this once-in-a-generation investment as a catalyst for wider regeneration, economic growth and place-making.

The Role

You will provide senior leadership across the clients major regeneration, infrastructure and place-based programmes.

Key priorities include:

• Leading operational readiness for Metro Phase 2 and Dudley Interchange.
• Establishing an integrated Major Projects Programme.
• Leading the Dudley Ecosystem Masterplan, including procurement and consultant management.
• Strengthening programme governance, reporting, risk management and delivery.
• Working with senior Council leaders, elected Members and regional partners.
• Driving pace, accountability and tangible outcomes.

The Candidate

We are looking for a senior programme leader with a proven track record in regeneration, infrastructure, economic development or place-based programmes, ideally within a complex public-sector environment.

You will be a confident and credible leader who can quickly establish relationships, influence across organisational boundaries, bring clarity to complexity and, most importantly, turn ambition into delivery.
