Job summary

Cancer Research UK is seeking a proactive Philanthropy Manager to lead a portfolio of major donors for the Francis Crick Institute in London. You will identify, cultivate and solicit gifts ranging from £10,000 to £100,000, working with the Crick Philanthropy Team and CRUK’s broader philanthropy programme to maximise impact.

You will manage donor relationships, develop engagement strategies, secure five- to six-figure gifts, and help grow our legacy giving.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of fundraising from high net-worth individuals or charitable trusts in the not-for-profit sector or transferable experience from commercial sectors.
• Experience in major gift fundraising and donor stewardship.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage supporters and explain complex scientific aims.

Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with prospects, donors and volunteers.
• Develop and implement engagement and cultivation strategies for major donors.
• Secure five- to six-figure gifts and pledges against personal targets.
• Collaborate with the Philanthropy Team and senior staff to identify opportunities and leverage networks.
• Expand legacy fundraising and stewardship of pledging donors.
• Identify new major donor opportunities and build a robust pipeline.
