About the Role

Harris Hill is thrilled to be working with a large international maritime charity that is seeking a new Major Donor Manager to join their team. The charity is expanding its income generation and launching new programmes worldwide. To support this growth, they have created this key role.

Role Overview

The Major Donor Manager, reporting to the Director of Development and collaborating with the Head of Major Gifts, will maintain and grow a stable pipeline of income from Major Donors. The successful candidate will secure both unrestricted and restricted funds from a portfolio of Major Donors to support the charity’s activities in the UK and internationally. Responsibilities include developing cultivation plans, engaging with donors, and preparing tailored applications and reports.

• Contract: Full-time, permanent

Candidate Criteria

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with Major Donors and wealth advisers
• Strong rapport-building and persuading skills
• At least two years’ experience in Major Donors fundraising
• Experience in crafting applications, thank you letters, and reports for Major Donors
• Proven track record of achieving targets and growing Major Donor income
• Research experience related to Major Donors
• Good knowledge of Gift Aid rules
• Understanding of GDPR and data protection regulations
