What Is the Opportunity?

Our Corporate team uses their specialist expertise to offer bespoke insurance solutions to our largest and most complex clients in the UK and Ireland. Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a Major Client Manager to join our team in any of our UK offices.

You might come from a Claims, Underwriting, Distribution, Risk Control, or Broking background with great knowledge of property & casualty and/or motor insurance. You’ll have proven experience in client and relationship management, along with excellent project management skills and a passion for performance, service, and delivery.

In this varied role, you will be involved from the early stages of client engagement, working as part of the team to deliver Travelers’ bespoke customer propositions. You will be the first point of contact for new and prospective clients, throughout the policy lifecycle up to renewal. You’ll work closely with clients and internal stakeholders in underwriting, risk control, and claims to ensure we fulfill our service commitments.

You will also develop a deep understanding of the client's business operations, strategic priorities, industry trends, and risks they face. You will proactively engage with clients to address their needs and challenges effectively.

Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility for employees to work on a hybrid basis, in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy, typically three days in the office and two days at home. This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.

What Will You Do?

  • Handle an allocation of clients, responsible for delivering value throughout their tenure with Travelers.
  • Implement effective communications around strategy and new value initiatives for Corporate business.
  • Ensure key stakeholders are aligned to priorities and key deliverables.
  • Share best practices across all stakeholders linked to the account.
  • Support internal communication programs to help each Branch understand the proposition.
  • Develop/manage a robust internal communication plan for each account.
  • Promote the brand at the corporate business team, business development managers, and Branch levels.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to improve the customer experience.
  • Coordinate the development of the customer proposition to secure retention and wins.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the value proposition and recommend developments.
  • Support Business Development Managers in advocating the corporate business proposition.
  • Build long-term, trusted relationships with customers.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and business development managers to identify and grow opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on performance and trends for your accounts.
  • Coordinate analysis of trends (claims, incident data, risk, emerging risks).
  • Maintain documentation and records of account activity.
  • Ensure the customer experience is positive during their relationship with Travelers.
  • Support the team in understanding and delivering on the corporate business proposition.
  • Raise awareness of multi-channel products and services.
  • Manage diary effectively for timely customer contact.
  • Operate as the lead contact for account-specific matters.
  • Develop and deliver solutions aligned with customer needs and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Deep knowledge of the local market, competitors, and Travelers’ propositions and products.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize activities effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Intermediate project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects within tight deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • ACII qualification preferred.

  • Experience managing key client accounts, addressing trends, and mitigating risks.
