Majestic Wine is seeking a dynamic, ambitious, and driven individual in South West London to grow and develop within a company revolutionising retail!

Majestic is the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer with a network of stores nationwide. Founded in , the company has recently returned to private ownership after acquisition by Fortress Investment Group and has undergone significant transformation, including record market share growth, a new website, and new stores. We offer over 1, different wines, spirits, and beers online and in-store, supported by over 1, WSET-trained staff providing knowledgeable service.

The Role

As a Trainee Manager, you will undertake a 12-month development programme to gain operational, service, and leadership experience, preparing you to become a Store Manager. You will follow a structured training pathway with support from your Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the store in delivering an outstanding shopping experience, acting as an ambassador.
  • Drive store performance by maximising sales and KPIs.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to foster loyalty and repeat business.
  • Provide VIP concierge service, including product updates and tastings.
  • Share your passion and knowledge of wine through tastings and product education.
  • Develop wine knowledge to support WSET qualifications.
  • Maintain store appearance and operational standards.
  • Participate in operational tasks such as stock delivery, merchandising, and customer calls.
  • Identify operational improvements and ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.
  • Engage in personal development and support junior team members.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Experience in retail or hospitality, working in a target-driven environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and prioritise under pressure.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Effective communication and time management skills.
  • Passion for wine and willingness to learn, with a goal to achieve WSET Level 2 & 3.
  • Full UK/EU/EEA driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
