Your new company
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to work for a leading global manufacturer based in Lowestoft. This business produces in excess of 120,000 tonnes, across 4 manufacturing sites with over 500 full-time employees.
Your new role
You will lead a team of engineers across a specialist manufacturing facility, ensuring the maintenance strategy is adhered to, meeting the agreed business KPIs, safety, quality and customer service. You will be first line manager for up to 12 engineers, managing work allocation, across days and shifts.
You will ensure manufacturing operations meet agreed key performance indicators (KPIs), including PE, Mean Time to Repair, Mean Time Between Failure, waste, customer service, PM completion, Food Safety Critical PM completion, Corrective action completion. You will, where required, represent the Engineering department at Site Management Forums and external bodies (HSE, BRC). Maintain all the key manufacturing / business processes e.g. ISO, HACCP & SAP and ensure that the department maintains its BRC AA* audit performance. You will manage the department budget and ensure delivery of projects/improvements, on time, in full and on budget, monitor and maintain critical spares and ensure availability.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an apprentice trained engineer with a background in food manufacturing. You will have strong leadership skills and a proven record of managing and developing an engineering team. You will have a strong understanding of health and safety in the workplace, first-hand experience managing contractors and overseeing procedures relating to permits to work, workforce planning, CDM experience and managing departmental budgets. Strong knowledge of operational excellence and lean manufacturing processes.
