Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a maintenance worker to help keep our school facilities in excellent condition. You will perform general repairs, support the driving of school vehicles, and maintain outdoor areas to create a safe, welcoming learning environment for pupils.

You’ll be trained on safeguarding as part of joining our team, and you’ll be part of anetwork of caring staff committed to excellent education. Salary is accompanied by a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Some maintenance skills, either professionally or as a DIY enthusiast.
• Willing to undertake Health & Safety training.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general day-to-day repairs to keep the school running.
• Assist in driving school vehicles and ensure they are well maintained.

Being a maintenance worker in our school means being part of something big. You’ll be doing your bit to make sure the school building is a great place to be for our young people.

Get out what you put in

You’ll do all the general, day-to-day repairs needed to keep our school up and running, drive the school vehicles and keep them in good working order, as well as making sure the school grounds and garden are kept neat and tidy. You’ll also be a familiar, friendly face, this means our young people will sometimes stop to chat to you so we’ll give you some training on child safeguarding to give you that extra confidence!

We are proud to announce our plans to expand the Secret Garden school opening in the Autumn of 2026.

This will take the form of a purpose-built, state-of-the-art primary campus and will cater for up to 40 pupils with a wide range of needs, including autism and social, emotional, and mental health needs. This exciting new opportunity will continue to serve Coventry and the wider communities; and will further enhance the first-class service that the Secret Garden has always delivered.
