Job description

Are you a multi-skilled trades/handyperson looking for your next career move?

If so, we would love to hear from you!

You will be a member of the multi-skilled estates team, with the primary role of maintaining the quality and condition of our properties to ensure buildings are safe. You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards across our sites, with expertise in the safe use of hand tools such as power drills, pliers, paper strippers, and other tools used in plumbing and carpentry.

With your good understanding of building systems including electrical, plumbing, and safety systems, you'll respond promptly to faults, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness while preventing major damage.

Additional Role Details
  • This role requires participation in a 24/7 on-call rota, currently 1 week in every 6. Overtime rates are paid for call-outs, along with an on-call allowance of 4.5% of your salary per annum/pro-rata.
  • Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered under the Equality Act 2010 where needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out repairs to the fabric of a building, such as walls, doors, door frames, skirting boards, or internal plaster damage.
  • Maintain plumbing and drainage systems, including repairs to WC systems, leaking taps, or unblocking drains.
  • Perform decorating and painting (internal and external).
  • Maintain grounds and external building features such as drainage and guttering.
  • Perform maintenance and light repairs.
  • Install notice boards and shelving.
  • Undertake light installation or basic carpentry works.
