Job Title: Tooling & Maintenance Technician (Roll Forming - LA)

General Job Function:
The Tooling & Maintenance Technician will perform various tasks related to the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of roll-form machines. The goal is to minimize production downtime by proactively maintaining the machines and equipment.
Job Duties:
- Support production operations by responding promptly to breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime and follow escalation procedures.
- Troubleshoot and perform all required tool and die work on automated equipment.
- Make repairs to pneumatic and hydraulic systems as necessary for maintenance and preventive activities.
- Perform basic welding and repairs requiring welding to restore production equipment.
- Perform production tasks as required by the situation.
- Respond to quality issues, machine and system failures, and perform repairs and maintenance on roll-form machinery and ancillary equipment.
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance to ensure machines produce quality parts safely and efficiently.
- Read blueprints and accurately set and pin rolls according to CAD data.
- Assist with design modifications for all roll-forming machines and related equipment.
- Operate material handling equipment for transporting supplies and making installations or repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including projects to support the plant.
Working Conditions:
- This is a safety-sensitive position working directly with machinery in a manufacturing environment that can be non-climate-controlled, with temperatures occasionally exceeding outside air.
- Must be able to bend, walk, stand for extended periods, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must be capable of bending, stooping, crawling, climbing, and working in confined spaces or at heights.
- Requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.
- Availability to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
Required Education, Experience & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of trade school, journeyman's program, or formal Tool & Die Maker training preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in tool & die and mechanical maintenance on automated equipment.
- Experience with precision instruments in metric or imperial systems.
- Knowledge of tool room operations, including drilling, milling, grinding, and lathe work.
- Understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, with the ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Self-motivated, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
