Job summary

A leading engineering solutions provider is seeking a technician for weekend-only maintenance work. The role involves servicing AMHE equipment, fault diagnosis across Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronic systems, and adhering to Health & Safety standards. Candidates must have an ONC or equivalent in Engineering and a recognized apprenticeship. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining equipment performance.

Qualifications

  • ONC or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (electrical preferred).
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of control systems and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out AMHE equipment servicing to quality standards.
  • Diagnose and repair Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, PLC, PC faults.
  • Comply with Health & Safety legislation.

Job description

To help deliver a resident site contract to our client, whilst maintaining the key values of the business.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Carry out AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with the quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals
  • To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices
  • Diagnosis of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and subsequent repairs
  • Prioritise system faults
  • To comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times
  • To ensure quality of output at all times
  • To accurately record all work undertaken
  • Involvement in continuous improvement and sales opportunities
  • Maintain product flow at all times
  • To ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels
  • To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and maintain customer relations
  • To adhere to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company

Knowledge & Experience Required

  • ONC or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (electrical preferred)
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (preferred)
  • A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
  • Basic understanding of control systems and techniques
  • Basic understanding of PLC equipment
  • Working at height
  • Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems
  • PC literacy
  • Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules

Technical Competencies (Or Local Equivalents)

  • Ability to learn and retain technical information
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions
  • Have a logical approach to fault finding and resolution
  • Operate within a designed structure of pre-planned maintenance
