This plumbing role is based atKendray hospital in Barnsley but covers other health centres in the Barnsleyarea that sits under the trust footprint.
The role is maintaining allaspects of the mechanical systems both internally and externally on thebuildings.
The work is varied and changeson a day to day basis in line with service needs, requirements andprioritisation of works.
Estates trust vehicles areutilised for traveling around the footprint of the trust and the successfulcandidates skillset may at times need to be used on the Wakefield propertieswhich includes Fieldhead hospital which has over fifteen in patient mentalhealth units and Cheswold Hospital which is a medium to low secure unit basedin Doncaster.

Thepost holder will be expected to keep up all relevant training both tradespecific and mandatory NHS.
The postholder will manage his/herown workload and liaise with departmental managers for access to ward andpatient areas.
To ensure mechanical stock levelsare maintained and order stock and parts as required.
To ensure the quality of work is ofa high standard at all times.
Required to carry out work inaccordance with working at heights and permit to work system on variousfunctions in various conditions i.e. confined spaces, boiler houses, plantrooms, stair wells etc.
Participate in an on call Rota.

Job Summary
The postholder will be the Specialist lead in his area of expertise and will be responsible for the Installation, maintenance, servicing and repairs of all equipment and properties belonging to the Trust or for other organisations as directed.
They will ensure compliance of all safety standards and procedures for both in house and contracting staff by ensuring training and technical support is provided. They will be responsible for ensuring the Trust is maintained as required by statutory and Government Guidelines i.e. HTMs, HBNs etc.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
1.1Care/service/function provision:
5. To carry out safe isolation of gas pipe work as required by ACOP in accordance with Gas safe Regulations.
6. To carry out work to HTM 04-01, ACOP L8 and HSG274 works relating to legionella ensuring all tests and monitoring is carried out as specified in the guidance.
7. To carry out ventilation inspection and testing in line with HTM 03-01.
8. To carry out ,witness all chlorination works on potable water systems.
9. To methodically log all results and ensure work repair requirements are raised relating to any tolerances out of the manufacturers specification.
10. To ensure all repairs are carried out as a priority.
11. To liaise with contractors carrying out relevant works in line with guidance HTM 04-01 &HTM 03-01.
12. Implement new work and keep within agreed budget and time allocation
13. To work from ladders, to erect and work from scaffold (once trained) and safe use of safety harness.
14. The postholder will be required to carry out work on waste systems, fall pipes and land drains both in replacement and unblocking as required.
16. The postholder will be expected to participate in The out of hours on call rota which involves multi skilling across all trades, bringing you into contact with sewage and other bodily fluids (for which protective equipment must be worn).
17. The postholder will on occasions be required to work overtime/change working hours if the need of service dictates

4. The department operates a cross over of duties and as such the job holder would be expected to carry out other trades work, which is within his skill level. He/she would be expected to gradually increase his knowledge and capabilities in other trades to progressively and successfully take on complex work of a multi trade nature.

1. Problem solve technical issues which arise during the course of your duties
2. Learn new techniques/technologies with training as necessary
4. To ensure the appropriate use of safety and protective clothing and equipment, as required by good working practice and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
5. To read understand and apply safety guidance notes, hazard letters, fire instructions and other such documents as issued to the postholder by Estates Co-ordinator.
