Job summary

Astemo Ltd. Bolton Plant is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure production lines and machinery operate at peak efficiency. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment, and support the installation of new lines and equipment.

The role requires hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• ONC/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical, with NVQ 2/3.
• City & Guilds 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing and maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose electrical and hydraulic/pneumatic faults.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain high-volume PLC controlled production equipment.
• Plan and perform preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Improve and modify assembly/test equipment and transfer systems.
• Service electrical and mechanical site services/plant.
• Support installation of new equipment.
