Maintenance Technician – X2 Positions

TXM Recruit are looking for x2 Maintenance Technicians working for one of our rail clients based in Oxley, Wolverhampton on a contract basis.

Job Function: To service, fault find and repair rolling stock assets.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Overhaul Programme:
   1. Prepare for and undertake the removal and replacement of traction and rolling stock components.
   2. Assemble and install traction and rolling stock components using engineering processes and techniques.
   3. Carry out planned modification tasks on rolling stock assets.
   4. Confirm that traction and rolling stock assets comply with operational specifications by the use of engineering processes and techniques.
   5. Keep Equinox and Wraps up to date with clear and concise information of work carried out.
   6. Carry out post overhaul inspections.
2. Corrective Maintenance:
   1. Assess and undertake any defect rectification on rolling stock assets.
   2. Carry out repairs to traction and rolling stock following technical scopes of work.
   3. Read and extract information from traction and rolling stock drawings and specifications.
   4. Modify traction and rolling stock components by material removal using hand tools.
3. Safety/Security/Health/Environment/Quality:
   1. Ensure compliance of health, safety, environmental & quality practices in the workplace.
   2. Identify and deal with hazards in the railway environment.
   3. Maintain the condition of the work site, materials and equipment.
   4. Support good housekeeping and waste management initiatives.
   5. Identify and provide continuous improvement suggestions.
4. Additional Tasks:
   1. Develop professionally and support good working relationships.
   2. Learn new skills in accordance with business demands as required.
   3. Assist in the development of maintenance & continuous improvement processes.
   4. Liaise with co-workers and external personnel as required to complete the duties of the post.
   5. Assist as required.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Licences / Competences:

1. Maintenance and fault finding.
2. Proven ability to solve technical problems using fault finding techniques.
3. Manual Handling.

5. Intermediate IT skills.
6. Train Balancing/Weighing.
7. Bogie Drop.
8. Train Lift Jacks.

Qualifications:

1. M & E HNC or served apprenticeship with mechanical/electrical disciplines.
2. Engineering based NVQ level 3.
