Maintenance Technician – X2 Positions
TXM Recruit are looking for x2 Maintenance Technicians working for one of our rail clients based in Oxley, Wolverhampton on a contract basis.
Job Function: To service, fault find and repair rolling stock assets.
Main Responsibilities:
- Overhaul Programme:
- Prepare for and undertake the removal and replacement of traction and rolling stock components.
- Assemble and install traction and rolling stock components using engineering processes and techniques.
- Carry out planned modification tasks on rolling stock assets.
- Confirm that traction and rolling stock assets comply with operational specifications by the use of engineering processes and techniques.
- Keep Equinox and Wraps up to date with clear and concise information of work carried out.
- Carry out post overhaul inspections.
- Corrective Maintenance:
- Assess and undertake any defect rectification on rolling stock assets.
- Carry out repairs to traction and rolling stock following technical scopes of work.
- Read and extract information from traction and rolling stock drawings and specifications.
- Modify traction and rolling stock components by material removal using hand tools.
- Safety/Security/Health/Environment/Quality:
- Ensure compliance of health, safety, environmental & quality practices in the workplace.
- Identify and deal with hazards in the railway environment.
- Maintain the condition of the work site, materials and equipment.
- Support good housekeeping and waste management initiatives.
- Identify and provide continuous improvement suggestions.
- Additional Tasks:
- Develop professionally and support good working relationships.
- Learn new skills in accordance with business demands as required.
- Assist in the development of maintenance & continuous improvement processes.
- Liaise with co-workers and external personnel as required to complete the duties of the post.
- Assist as required.
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications:Licences / Competences:- Maintenance and fault finding.
- Proven ability to solve technical problems using fault finding techniques.

- Bogie Drop.
- Train Lift Jacks.
Qualifications:- M & E HNC or served apprenticeship with mechanical/electrical disciplines.
- Engineering based NVQ level 3.
