Your new role
The role will require the following key responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all NHSPS Health, Safety & Wellbeing Policies, relevant NHSPS Technical Guidance, Processes and Procedures, Statutory Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice, and any applicable aspects of HTMs.
- Implement new or revised practices and policies within your work areas.
- Deliver scheduled, reactive, and remedial maintenance services as directed by the PPM planner (CAFM), helpdesk, or Technical Services Supervisor, ensuring operational standards are maintained.
- Tasks may include fault finding, minor repairs or installations, and maintaining services and equipment within critical environments.
- You may be required to undertake tasks in disciplines other than your own.
- Assess problems to determine the best course of action, including complex technical issues, and communicate technical or complex information to stakeholders.
- Maintain effective site logbooks at NHS premises, ensuring they are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need one of the following qualifications:
- BTEC City & Guilds plus relevant experience and training.
- NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Formal apprenticeship or craft-trained equivalent.
Additional requirements include:
- Driving licence is essential.
- Comfortable using technological devices to log jobs.
- On-Call availability.
- Industry experience is desirable.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team, collaborating with other technical disciplines.
