Your new role

The role will require the following key responsibilities:

  1. Ensure compliance with all NHSPS Health, Safety & Wellbeing Policies, relevant NHSPS Technical Guidance, Processes and Procedures, Statutory Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice, and any applicable aspects of HTMs.
  2. Implement new or revised practices and policies within your work areas.
  3. Deliver scheduled, reactive, and remedial maintenance services as directed by the PPM planner (CAFM), helpdesk, or Technical Services Supervisor, ensuring operational standards are maintained.
  4. Tasks may include fault finding, minor repairs or installations, and maintaining services and equipment within critical environments.
  5. You may be required to undertake tasks in disciplines other than your own.
  6. Assess problems to determine the best course of action, including complex technical issues, and communicate technical or complex information to stakeholders.
  7. Maintain effective site logbooks at NHS premises, ensuring they are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need one of the following qualifications:

  1. BTEC City & Guilds plus relevant experience and training.
  2. NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  3. Formal apprenticeship or craft-trained equivalent.

Additional requirements include:

  1. Driving licence is essential.
  2. Comfortable using technological devices to log jobs.
  3. On-Call availability.
  4. Industry experience is desirable.
  5. Ability to work alone and as part of a team, collaborating with other technical disciplines.
