Maintenance Technician - Mechanical

Introduction

Indaver leads in sustainable waste management in Europe, delivering high-quality, cost-effective services across municipal, industrial, and hazardous waste markets. We operate in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Portugal, the UK, and Ireland. Currently, in Essex, Indaver is constructing a facility to process residual waste and generate electricity for approximately 60,000 homes. We are hiring 65 specialists to maintain and operate this plant.

The Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) will be responsible for executing all front-line mechanical maintenance activities across the process, building, and site systems at the Rivenhall facility, ensuring compliance and high operational availability.

The technician will also support the development of less experienced team members within a 24/7 facility.

Role & Responsibilities

• Execute work safely, following Indaver’s Safe System of Work, prioritizing safety of people, plant, and environment
• Maintain the facility using best practices, complying with environmental, legal, and internal standards
• Perform preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance activities
• Support shutdown activities and external service providers
• Identify operational improvements and ensure proper documentation of modifications

Experience Required

• SVQ/HNC/HND with relevant experience in maintenance, construction, or engineering services
• At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a complex operational environment (e.g., Oil & Gas, Power Generation)
• Knowledge of SAP and experience with plant and equipment in continuous process industries is advantageous
