Job summary

Indaver is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Mech) at its Rivenhall facility in Essex. This role drives front line mechanical maintenance across process and site systems, ensuring high operational availability while supporting apprentices and less experienced technicians in a 24/7 operation.

The incumbent will execute preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance, coordinate with external providers, and identify process improvement opportunities to keep the plant compliant and safe.

Qualifications

• SVQ/HNC/HND with significant experience in maintenance, construction or engineering services
• Lower qualifications considered with significant applicable experience
• Proven maintenance experience in a complex operational environment (Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Industrial Process)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage, with training provided
• Experience with complex plant/equipment in continuous process industries

Responsibilities

• All works executed safely under Indaver Safe System of Work
• Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely
• Take responsibility for the safety of others
• Maintain facility using best Indaver/industry practices and ensure compliance
• Perform preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance
• Execute planned and unplanned shutdown activities
• Work with external maintenance service providers on site
• Identify improvement projects to enhance operability, maintainability or compliance
• Ensure projects are completed to high standards and as-built modifications documented

Indaver leads the field in sustainable waste management in Europe. We deliver high-quality, cost-effective services in the municipal, industrial and specialist hazardous waste markets. We currently offer Total Waste Management and Waste-to-Energy solutions in Belgium, th e Netherlands, Germany, France, Portugal, the UK and Ireland

This role is based in Essex, at our Rivenhall Facility , which processes circa 595,000t of residual waste per annum and produces electricity to power in the region of 60,000 homes.

The Maintenance Technician (Mech) will be responsible for the execution of all front line mechanical maintenance activities across all of the process, building and site systems that comprise the Rivenhall facility, in accordance with the operational requirements of the facility in order to drive compliance and ensure high levels of operational availability of the facility.

The Maintenance Technician will also be required to support the development of less experienced maintenance technicians and apprentices within the maintenance team, operating in a 24 hour/365 days per year facility.

Role & Responsibilities

• All works are executed in accordance with Indaver’s Safe System of Work and the protection of people, plant and the environment are at the core of every activity
• Ensure that all work activities are executed safely
• Take responsibility for the safety of others
• Maintenance of the facility using best Indaver/Industry practices in compliance with all relevant environmental, legal, license and internal norms
• Execution of all preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance activities across the facility
• Execution of planned and unplanned shutdown activities
• Work with and support external maintenance service providers operating within the facility
• Identification of operational improvement projects that simplify, standardise or improve the operability, maintainability and/or compliance of the facility
• Ensure projects are executed to a high standard and any as-built modifications are documented

Experience & Qualifications

• SVQ/HNC/HND with significant experience gained in a maintenance, construction and/or engineering services environment
• Lower qualifications will be considered when supported by significant directly applicable experience
• Proven maintenance experience within a complex operational environment (Oil & Gas, Power Generation, and Industrial Process)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided
• Knowledge and experience of complex integrated plant and equipment commonly found within continuous process industries such as, power generation, cement industry and petrochemicals
• Specific Furnace/Boiler and/or rotating equipment experience a distinct advantage
