Job summary

Indaver is seeking a Maintenance Technician (E&I) at the Rivenhall facility in Essex to perform frontline electrical, control system and instrumentation maintenance. You will ensure safety and compliance while driving high facility availability.

The role includes mentoring less experienced technicians and supporting a 24/7 operation, following Safe System of Work and sharing best practices across the team.

Qualifications

• SVQ/HNC/HND with significant experience in maintenance/engineering services.
• Lower qualifications may be considered with substantial relevant experience.
• Proven maintenance experience in a complex operational environment.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of distributed control systems and PLCs is advantageous; training provided.
• Familiarity with LV/MV/HV switching and control equipment is advantageous; training provided.
• Knowledge of SAP is advantageous; training provided.
• Experience with complex integrated plant in continuous process industries.

Responsibilities

• Execute front line electrical, control system and instrumentation maintenance.
• Ensure work is conducted safely and in accordance with Safe System of Work.
• Maintain plant and building systems to high availability and compliance.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team and share best practices.
• Carry out preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance activities.
• Plan and execute shutdown activities when required.
• Contribute to projects and document as-built modifications.

Job description

Indaver leads the field in sustainable waste management in Europe. We deliver high-quality, cost-effective services in the municipal, industrial and specialist hazardous waste markets. We currently offer Total Waste Management and Waste-to-Energy solutions in Belgium, th e Netherlands, Germany, France, Portugal, the UK and Ireland

This role is based in Essex, at our Rivenhall Facility , which processes circa 595,000t of residual waste per annum and produces electricity to power in the region of 60,000 homes.

The Maintenance Technician (E&I) will be responsible for the execution of all front line electrical, control system and instrumentation maintenance activities across all of the process, building and site systems that comprise the Rivenhall facility, in accordance with the operational requirements of the facility in order to drive compliance and ensure high levels of operational availability of the facility

The Maintenance Technician will also be required to support the development of less experienced maintenance technicians and apprentices within the maintenance team, operating in a 24 hour/365 days per year facility

Role & Responsibilities

• All works are executed in accordance with Indaver’s Safe System of Work and the protection of people, plant and the environment are at the core of every activity
• Ensure that all work activities are executed safely
• Take responsibility for the safety of others
• Maintenance of the facility using best Indaver/Industry practices in compliance with all relevant environmental, legal, license and internal norms
• Collaborative delivery of maintenance services within the facility
• Sharing of best practices across the maintenance team
• Execution of all preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance activities across the facility
• Execution of planned and unplanned shutdown activities
• Identification of operational improvement projects that simplify, standardise or improve the operability, maintainability and/or compliance of the facility
• Ensure projects are executed to a high standard and any as-built modifications are documented

Experience & Qualifications Required

• SVQ/HNC/HND with significant experience gained in a maintenance, construction and/or engineering services environment
• Lower qualifications will be considered when supported by significant directly applicable experience.
• Proven maintenance experience within a complex operational environment (Oil & Gas, Power Generation, and Industrial Process)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of Distributed Control System and PLC’s would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided
• Familiarity with Low, Medium and High Voltage switching and control equipment. Would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided
• Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided
• Knowledge and experience of complex integrated plant and equipment commonly found within continuous process industries such as, power generation, cement industry and petrochemicals
• Specific Furnace/Boiler and/or rotating equipment experience a distinct advantage
