Job summary

Enterprise Flex-E-Rent Southampton workshop is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician / Mechanic. You will perform maintenance and servicing on rental vehicles, verify safety, and address wear before issues arise in a team-focused environment.

The role offers overtime at 1.25x, a structured career progression path, and a comprehensive benefits package including pension and life assurance. Monday to Friday shifts, with generous leave and perks.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Experience working with HGVs or LCVs.
• Full UK/Irish/EU Class C or CE driving licence.
• Proactive, detail-oriented approach and passion for vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance tasks and servicing on rental vehicles.
• Test and check systems and components for safety and operation.
• Identify and replace worn parts before breakdowns or damage.
• Test drive vehicles where permitted and ensure valid driving licence.
• Record work in computer systems and submit daily paperwork to Workshop Manager.
• Complete jobs fully or hand over with vehicle safe and signage in place.

Skills

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Carry out maintenance tasks & servicing on Rental Vehicles.
• Test and check that systems and components are safe, secure and working properly.
• Identify and repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle’s breakdown or damage.
• Test drive vehicles where permitted and correct driving license is held.
• Record work carried out on computer systems accordingly and accurately as you go, submitting paperwork to the Workshop Manager /Lead Tech at the end of each day/ shift.
• Complete jobs in full before the end of your shift or carry out job handover as required ensuring the vehicle is left in a safe condition with necessary safety signage present.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Experience working with HGVs or LCVs
• A Full UK / Irish / EU Class C or CE (formerly Class 1 or 2) Manual Driving Licence
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach and a passion for vehicle maintenance
