Job description

Our client, a growing tier 1 automotive supplier in the London area, is looking to add a maintenance technician to their technical team. This multi-faceted role will assist the organization with maintenance support activity, mold and die repair and maintenance and overseeing automation upgrades and maintenance.

Salary range – $70-78,000/YR plus full benefits and pension provisions

A few key responsibilities will include

  • Repair and optimize molds and dies for plastic molding processes.
  • Collaborate with product designers and engineers to understand design requirements.
  • Perform mold repairs as required on the Production Floor.
  • Coordinate all internal and external mold repairs, including sending RFQ’s to outside Mold Repair Shops.
  • Coordinate and maintain spare pins and mold parts with outside vendors.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager tool PM’s and input information into Priority system, after training.
  • Ensure all Automation is functioning as intended, work with any outside contractors to repair/design/install new Automation
  • Repair and upgrade all Automation as required
  • Create Condition Standards for all Injection Machines and Automation and routinely audit them.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to ensure minimal scrap and cycle time improvements

Requirements Include

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience from within the lastic injection molding industry or tool shop or experience gained in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of materials, molding processes, and mold fabrication techniques.
  • 5 years’ experience in the maintenance of molds, injection machines, associated auxiliary equipment
  • Skilled Trade Certificate or Technical Education Diploma
