Maintenance Technician / Engineer - Belfast - Salary £46000

Your New Role

Working as a Maintenance Technician you will report to the site Operations Manager. You will manage the Preventive Maintenance programme across all equipment – key items being material handling transfer conveyors and elevators.

Whilst on shift your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

1. Support the efficient operation and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
2. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic equipment faults.
3. Ensure all engineering work is carried out in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation.
4. Repair industrial Agri-feed conveying systems to current Company standards.
5. Support all phases of capital investment projects from design to commissioning.
6. Maintain accurate and organised records of all work, both in written and electronic format.
7. Liaise and work in conjunction with all specialist contractors.
8. Any other duties as required for the safe and efficient running of the site as directed by site Operations Manager or designate.

What You'll Need To Succeed

In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and experience:

1. To have completed an approved apprenticeship with the relevant Mech/Elec or Electrical qualification.
2. Minimum five years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience post-apprenticeship in a mechanical and/or electrical hands-on maintenance and/or engineering role.
3. Experience in problem-solving and rectification on a variety of equipment, PLC’s, safety circuits, control circuits, SCADA controlled equipment, variable speed drives etc.
4. An understanding of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
5. Extensive hands-on fault-finding experience with PLCs, safety circuits, SCADA, and motor controls.
6. Ability to read schematics and diagnose faults independently using electrical drawings.
7. Must demonstrate strong initiative and resolve issues independently without reliance on external contractors.
8. Strong knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO), isolation methods, and risk assessments.
9. Knowledge of electro/mechanical equipment.
10. A full, valid driving licence.
11. The ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
12. ATEX Experience is desirable, but not essential.

What You'll Get In Return

For working a highly attractive Monday - Friday (39-hour week) pattern you will be in receipt of a competitive salary. If working on an early/late shift pattern the salary is £46000.
