A well-established manufacturing company in Wigan is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to ensure efficient production operations. The role involves both planned and reactive maintenance, diagnosing electrical faults, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Ideal candidates will have a City & Guilds Level 3 qualification through an electrical apprenticeship and substantial experience in a maintenance setting.

I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established manufacturing company based in Wigan, for a Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of production through effective maintenance and repair of equipment.

The Role:
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on plant and equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults independently and as part of a team.
  • Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks.
  • Assist with breakdowns as required.
  • Utilise Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) – SAP.
  • Work efficiently, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
What My Client is Looking For:
  • Qualified to City & Guilds Level 3 through a time-served Electrical Apprenticeship.
  • At least four years’ experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems (Allen Bradley/Siemens).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and maintenance software (SAP).
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours when required.
