Job description

Maintenance Technician (Electrical Bias)

Pay rate: £19.50/hour + 22% shift rate

Min 2 years in machine maintenance

Location: Skelmersdale

Working hours: 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm Mon to Thurs. 6am - 12pm, 11am - 4.35pm Fri

Duties

To carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks with a focus on electrical systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Mainly working on automated lines, lines consist of robots, ultra sonic welders and laser, labellers.
  • Conduct statutory testing (e.g., emergency lighting, RCD testing, PAT testing).
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults and minor mechanical issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other trades and contractors to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience of Robots and PLCS are a strong advantage
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification (Required).
  • Time served or NVQ level trained in electrical installation/maintenance Machine maintenance background
