Overview
First Military Recruitment is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician (Electrical) on behalf of one of our clients.
The focus of the Maintenance Technician is to ensure all safety regulations and policies are adhered to, conduct preventative maintenance on time to a high standard, and provide high levels of equipment availability through continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prioritize health and safety in all work, ensuring compliance with all standards and regulations.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on equipment within the site.
- React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly, and work efficiently to resolve issues.
- Maintain high equipment availability.
- Support the wider team and manage contractors.
- Manage on-site high-risk situations and escalate as necessary.
- Control contractor activities when required.
- Manage critical spare parts inventory.
- Support production operations.
- Utilize basic IT/IS functions and maintain electronic documents and reports.
- Perform repairs to building infrastructure.
- Create checklists and maintenance plans for new installations.
- Review and update construction plans (Management of Change).
- Work with leadership to ensure food safety and partner safety.
- Follow standard operating procedures and all PCP and CCP checks.
- Respond to food safety, quality, and customer requirement outages, and understand customer needs to ensure proper operation and product quality.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Multiskilled in electrical (instrumentation) and mechanical work, with an electrical bias.
- Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems.
- Fault finding on Siemens PLC and automated material handling systems.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Experience with conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters.
- Maintenance and servicing of production facilities.
- Experience with high voltage switching.
- Knowledge of sortation systems and conveyor machinery.
- Experience in fault finding on building equipment such as HVAC, dock levelers, chillers, and general maintenance.
