Job description

The key function is to support NHS Property Services in delivering building services maintenance and repairs across the NHS to ensure buildings are maintained to the highest standards and to provide a safe and secure environment for visitors, customers, and employees.

Main duties of the job

Ensure compliance in line with all processes/procedures and policies that meet organisational standards/requirements, including but not limited to our Health & Safety Policy/HTMs (Health Technical Memoranda) and SFG20. Implement new or revised policies within own work areas. Deliver planned and reactive maintenance services from the PPM planner, ensuring operational standards are maintained. Duties may include testing and inspection of combustion heating services, fault finding, minor repairs or installations, and maintaining services and equipment within critical environments. Ability to assess problems to determine the best course of action, including complex technical issues.

Job responsibilities

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician - Combustion to join our team based in Edgware Community Hospital. This is a full-time, permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm. The role covers North London. The starting salary is from £38,000, depending on experience.

Requirements include qualifications such as:

• Registered Gas Safe Engineer with ACS qualifications in Domestic and Commercial Gas Installations.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Formal apprenticeship or craft-trained equivalent.

Additional requirements:

• Driving license is essential.
• Comfort with using technological devices to log jobs.
• Industry experience is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, collaborating with other technical disciplines.

Note: DBS and DVLA checks are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with NHSPS Health, Safety & Wellbeing Policies, Technical Guidance, Processes, and Procedures, including statutory regulations and HTMs.
• Implement new or revised practices and policies within own work areas.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• BTEC City & Guilds and relevant experience/training
• Registered Gas Safe Engineer with ACS qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence
