Responsible for handling more than 90% of TMUK's vehicle welding, advanced robotic workers work with speed and accuracy to perform tasks such as component attachment and precise customisations, providing strength and rigidity to every single Toyota Corolla that passes through the factory.

What does a day to day of a maintenance technician within the body department look like?

As a maintenance technician, you will be responsible for maintaining a variety of PLC controlled robotics. This includes the largest robot in the factory, Godzilla.

Further responsibilities will include:

1. Reacting to breakdowns
2. Swapping components like for like
3. Completing continuous improvement activity

What do the body shop look for?

As with all TMUK's departments, a mindset for Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) and adopting a 'fix right first time' culture is essential. Toyota likes their maintenance technicians to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and enjoy the buzz of a busy factory.

1. Strong multiskilled experience
2. Experience with fluid power systems (Desirable)
3. Understanding of electrical safe practices
4. Understanding of robotic principles
5. Happy to work across a three-shift pattern, including night shift
6. Flexibility to complete the occasional overtime shift

The body shop will consider maintenance technicians from any environment and background, but of course would love to speak to those with experience on robotic machinery.
