Job Description

We are currently looking for a maintenance assistant to join our team. This role will entail basic maintenance and repair tasks and you may assist other skilled workers with electrical, plumbing or general building/facility maintenance projects.

You must understand personal responsibilities in relation to the Health & Safety at Work legislation and demonstrates a working knowledge of COSHH assessment applicable in own work area.

About Us

Hotel Indigo, York hotel is a unique and trendy hotel set in the heart of York. The hotel boasts 103 unique bedrooms, with a funky and trendy Restaurant and Bar named No.88 Walmgate.

The team is very passionate, enthusiastic, and very energetic! The culture in the hotel is very important, and that is; trying to deliver the Hotel’s goals and objectives whilst at the same time creating a fun and great work/life balance for all!

York Train station is easily accessible, the hotel is a 12 minute walk from the Train Station. There are plenty of drop off points all throughout York for bus routes in and out of the city, with a main bus route running past the hotel on Walmgate.

Role in our Family

Within the Maintenance Assistant:
• Take reasonable care of items of equipment used to carry out tasks, including general cleanliness and advising on faults and need for maintenance or replacement goods.
• To provide reactive and proactive support to the hotel and maintenance manager.
• To carry out PPMs in line with instructions from the maintenance manager.
• Assisting with decorating/carpentry/painting work, as well as clearing gutters, moving furniture, changing light bulbs and other ad hoc tasks.
