Gap Personnel is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing industrial manufacturer for the position of Maintenance Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking production team and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of machinery and equipment.
Conduct routine maintenance, including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and repairs on production machinery and equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
Perform preventive maintenance activities in line with established schedules.
Coordinate with production supervisors to prioritize tasks and limit production disruption.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, work orders, and repairs.
Monitor machinery performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and safety.
Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies.
Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers when required.
Collaborate with external contractors for specialized repairs or servicing.
High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in Mechanical, Plumbing, Gas or Heating Engineering is advantageous.
Recognized qualification such as City & Guilds 6035 Level 2/3 or equivalent.
Proven experience in a maintenance technician role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
Familiarity with machinery such as pumps, compressors, ovens, and conveyors.
Understanding of safety regulations related to industrial maintenance.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends as required.
Physical capability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in tight spaces.
