Job Title: Multi Skilled Engineer

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Multi Skilled Engineer to join the team based in Cardiff.

The successful candidate will perform Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance on Plant, Equipment, and Building Services. Role Summary:

  1. Identify and manage risks to the client through equipment on site, including updating drawings, identifying critical spares, and improving machinery performance. Implement preventative maintenance programs.
  2. Utilize new equipment and technologies to maintain a productive environment, liaising with the client on machinery PPM requests.
  3. Fault find on all types of Machinery.
  4. Support health and safety initiatives within the department.
  5. Provide electrical and mechanical expertise, working on heavy industrial machines and overhead cranes.
  6. Write and follow risk assessments, addressing issues safely and accurately.
  7. Complete documentation in accordance with rules and legislation.
  8. Work on three-phase systems with voltages up to 440V.
  9. Maintain motors, gearboxes, valves, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  10. Use mobile devices to project and complete work via the CAFM system.
  11. Plan daily tasks using email and calendars to ensure efficiency.
  12. Liaise with onsite Site Services to resolve building services issues confidently and accurately.
  13. Serve as the responsible person for the department when required and deputize the Shift Leader during leave or sickness.
  14. Work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends, often with short notice.
  15. Perform adhoc duties as required.

Experience Required:

  • A recognized or time-served apprenticeship.
  • Strong proven experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Electrical qualifications such as City and Guilds 236 Pt 1-2, 17th Edition.
  • Mechanical qualifications to an acceptable standard, e.g., City and Guilds Mechanical.
  • Good multi-skilled ability.
  • Experience with 3-phase motors, drives, and inverters.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
  • Fault-finding ability.
  • PLC diagnostics and repair skills.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Electrical and Mechanical.
  • Ability to supervise contractors.
  • Ability to write risk and method statements, and understand permits.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Working at height qualification.
  • IPAF certification.
  • AP qualifications.
  • Experience in heavy engineering.
