Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting and repair. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing all production equipment including injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers. The Technician also maintains facilities and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, and water filtration systems. They work closely with machine operators, supervisors, and other maintenance staff to resolve mechanical issues and propose solutions to complex problems.

Essential Functions

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, drawings, and testing equipment.
  • Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other machinery.
  • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment following Niagara's processes.
  • Maintain industrial control systems.
  • Work independently and with team members to complete repairs safely and promptly.
  • May fill in for production operator as needed.
  • Create and report repairs, complete work orders, and document parts and materials used.
  • Follow plant safety rules, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Maintain regular attendance to ensure equipment and facility uptime.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in maintenance or a similar environment.
  • Experience managing people and projects.

Experience may include a combination of work experience and education.

  • Effective communication skills across departments.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and use shop equipment.
  • Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer.
  • Own toolbox and basic tools required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Experience with high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
  • Knowledge of VFDs, servo drives, rotary equipment, HVAC systems, and electrical schematics.
  • Skilled in fabrication and electrical repairs.

Education

  • Minimum: High School Diploma.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree in relevant manufacturing or technical field.

Additional Information

Compensation Range: $31.01 - $44.97 per hour.
