Chemring Energetics UK (CEUK) is a global business providing a range of equipment based on energetic materials for defence, civil defence and key commercial customers. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join our team!

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for keeping things running smoothly? We’re looking for a proactive Maintenance Technician to support our production teams by tackling a variety of planned, corrective, and reactive maintenance tasks. From diagnosing breakdowns to executing precision repairs, your expertise will be vital in keeping our equipment - and our business - running at peak performance.

Key Accountabilities & Duties:

  • Carry out all activities in full compliance with H&SE legislation, within company policy and procedure.
  • Responsible for reporting any unsafe acts or unsafe conditions observed (using the Near Miss System) in accordance with responsibilities under the Health and Safety at work Act.
  • Carry out mechanical Planned Preventative Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance to production equipment and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Fault diagnosis and root cause analysis.
  • Work in accordance with site procedures, engineering standards and relevant legislation.
  • Utilisation of the site Computerised Maintenance Management system for all maintenance works.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner and is to the required standard of workmanship.
  • Work in accordance with the site permit to work system.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • HNC or equivalent in mechanical discipline.
  • Ability to diagnose faults on mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
  • Good working knowledge of maintenance practice, MTBF, condition monitoring etc.
  • Experience in a mechanical maintenance role.
  • Experience working in a high hazard industry.
  • CMMS experience.
  • Industrial Health and Safety training.

  • Strong bias for action to identify potential problems and co-ordinate their resolution before they become an issue.
  • Continually seeks to identify new ideas and implement new opportunities, which deliver business benefit.
  • The ability to build and develop effective relationships and use these to improve performance.
  • Strong IT, communication and team working skills.
  • Knowledge of the principles of company policy and operating procedures in order to ensure site and company compliance.
