Job summary

Exemplar Health Care, Willowbeck care home in Sheffield, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure facilities are safe and well-presented. The role is based at 95 Holywell Road, with a 40-hour week and a salary of £13.77 per hour. A full clean UK driving licence held for at least 2 years is required.

You will undertake general maintenance, decorating, plumbing and tiling, while keeping the home welcoming for residents, staff and visitors. Training and induction are provided.

About the role

Our Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring that the fabrics, fittings, fixtures and equipment in the home are in good condition.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• general maintenance
• decorating
• plumbing
• tiling
• carrying out regular risk assessments, audits and checks.

If you haven’t worked in the care sector before, we’ll help you feel right at home from the start with our induction, buddy and ongoing training programmes.

• able to demonstrate a broad range of maintenance skills
• knowledgeable about, and experienced in, health and safety legislation and regulations
• a great communicator, both verbally and in writing
• someone with digital skills and an understanding of how IT works

• kind, caring and understanding
• have full clean UK driving licence, which you must have held for a minimum of 2 years
