Job summary

McLaren Automotive seeks a Maintenance Technician to join the Services team in Woking. You will perform reactive and planned maintenance on production equipment across the McLaren Production Centre and Technology Centre, with a focus on PLC-controlled systems and high-speed manufacturing lines.

The role includes shifting patterns with on-call rotation, a strong emphasis on safety, diagnostics, and continuous improvement, plus career development within a world-leading performance car company.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical discipline.
• Experience diagnosing and fault-finding PLC-controlled equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledge.
• Knowledge of automated control systems and manufacturing equipment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repair, improvement and planned maintenance on production equipment.
• Supervise subcontractor activities when required.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of plant and equipment.
• Log and document reactive and planned maintenance tasks while ensuring compliance with safety policies.

Job description

We are recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join our fantastic Services team in Woking. As the Maintenance Technician at McLaren, you will be joing a team who are responsible for the repair and maintenance on all production equipment within the McLaren Production Centre and the McLaren Technology Centre. In this role you will perform reactive and planned maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing plant and equipment. The role requires a high technical skill level alongside a proactive approach in resolving issues and implementing countermeasures. Monday to Friday day shift, early shift, late shift on a rotating pattern with an on call rota. What You’ll Do

• Carrying out repair, improvement, and planned maintenance work on production equipment.
• Effective supervision of subcontractor activities as required.
• Identification of continuous improvement of plant, equipment, and systems.
• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental policy requirements within area of responsibility.
• Effective logging and documentation of reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
  Apprenticeship in an electrical/mechanical or similar education/discipline.
• High level of diagnostic and fault-finding experience on plc-controlled equipment.
• Good mechanical systems knowledge (pumps, vacuum, pneumatics, hydraulics etc).
• Effective fault finding on critical production equipment.
• Experience of fault finding and maintenance activity on PC, PLC, and electromechanically controlled production equipment.
• Robust experience in a similar role and industry.
• Knowledge of automated control systems and manufacturing and process equipment is required.
• Strong communicator
