Maintenance Technician at SGL Carbon Fibers Ltd

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion to keep machines running at peak performance? We're looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at SGL Carbon Fibers Ltd.

This is a key role that involves:

  • Providing maintenance support to both new and existing plant across our site to ensure optimum levels of efficiency within our operations
  • Completing scheduled inspections and maintenance activities as well as unscheduled and adhoc/emergency electrical/mechanical works
  • Implementing continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance safety and operational performance
  • Collaborating with different departments across the site to ensure works are carried out effectively and understanding is shared between Maintenance and Production colleagues
  • Maintaining accurate records and data entry related to maintenance activities

Your Profile:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment or similar is advantageous
  • Minimum HNC, SVQ/NVQ level 2 or 3, or other equivalent in a relevant Electrical/Mechanical Discipline, or recognized apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance
  • Proven electrical/mechanical maintenance experience, preferably within a process manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Production Operations and Processes
  • Intermediate IT skills are advantageous
  • Willingness to learn and apply new skills

Location: This position is based at our site in Muir of Ord.

Hours of work: Pre-arranged rota of discontinuous shifts including night shifts; average hours per week are approximately 4 hours per day or per annum, depending on schedule.
