We are seeking a multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to join our client's growing team in a state-of-the-art vitamin and sports supplements manufacturing environment.
This is a hands-on role where your expertise in both electrical and mechanical maintenance will ensure the smooth running of our advanced production and packaging lines.
Youll work with a variety of machinery, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and performing preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and keep operations running efficiently.
What Youll Be Doing Day-to-Day
- Equipment Care & Repairs
- Carry out routine servicing and reactive repairs on production machinery, from dismantling and cleaning to replacing worn parts and reassembling equipment.
- Use your electrical and mechanical skills to quickly fault-find and restore machines to full operation, minimising production delays.
- Preventative Maintenance
- Perform planned maintenance checks to ensure all plant and equipment operate at peak efficiency.
- Identify wear-and-tear issues before they become breakdowns, ensuring a proactive rather than reactive approach.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, using diagnostic tools and technical drawings to pinpoint faults and resolve issues quickly.
- Work under pressure to get machinery operational again while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Work closely with production teams to coordinate maintenance activities with minimal disruption.
- Provide detailed shift handovers, updating colleagues on completed work, temporary fixes, or upcoming maintenance needs.
- Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all maintenance work meets health, safety, hygiene, and quality requirements.
- Support internal audits and maintain accurate maintenance logs, job cards, and inventory records.
- Suggest and implement improvements to boost equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.
- Contribute to new product and process trials, working alongside engineers to integrate new technologies.
What Youll Bring
- Level 3 NVQ (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent multi-skilled apprenticeship
- Ideally 17th/18th Edition electrical qualification
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Skills in HVAC, PLCs, and local exhaust ventilation (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- A proactive, safety-conscious mindset and excellent teamworking skills
