Estates Technician x2 Posts 1 Electrical and 1 Building Fabric
Responsibilities

- To deliver reactive, planned, and preventative maintenance tasks across all sites, either specialising in Electrical, Mechanical or more general disciplines of building maintenance
- To perform a variety of tasks across multiple trades, including installation, fault-finding, and repairs.
- To undertake any other duties as directed by the Maintenance manager.
- To operate in a customer-facing and public environment and set an appropriate image of the University.
- Monitor and record information through the maintenance Helpdesk system, responding to emails and queries prioritising as appropriate.
- To ensure work requests are carried out to a high quality, delivered to schedule and with minimum disruption; to undertake duties to provide the highest standard of customer service and student experience, taking into account statutory obligations and appropriate regulations where appropriate.
- To liaise with the Estates team to ensure all activities undertaken are carried out safely using existing risk assessments, dynamic assessments, to wear appropriate PPE; to ensure that the health, safety
- To be responsible for the maintenance stores, ensuring that consumables and tools are kept stocked, organised, serviced, clean, tidy, secure and accounted for.
- To maintain stock levels of spare parts and other appropriate resources.
- To make regular inspections of all plant, equipment and buildings to bring to the attention of the Maintenance Supervisor the condition of these areas (where within the role's specialism).
- To keep abreast of relevant developments in the field, including practices, techniques, equipment and legislation.
- To supervise external contractors on sites where appropriate
- To liaise with appropriate personnel to discuss and agree programmes of work.
- To have the ability to work independently/without the need for supervision and validate work to ensure compliance with professional standards.
- To supervise work, support and develop the team's Apprentices in line with area(s) of specialism
