Provision of an effective maintenance service to all plant/equipment used within the refining and packing areas, with emphasis on improving plant availability & reliability.

Shift: 4 on (days), 4 off, 4 on (nights), 8 off

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Meet or better all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental targets.
  • Carry out plant isolations.
  • Maintain mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems within Process, Packing, Utilities, and Jetty sections.
  • Perform reactive maintenance based on plant priorities.
  • Follow maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Plan and agree on daily/weekly workload with the Area Maintenance Leader, including Preventative, Predictive, and improvement activities.
  • Coordinate plant insurance inspections with insurance inspectors.
  • Complete plant improvement projects as time permits.
  • Supervise maintenance activities, optimizing resources and contractors to ensure high-quality repairs and projects.
  • Manage contractors, RAMS, and PTW procedures.
  • Supervise cleaning resources to maintain plant hygiene.
  • Administer SAP maintenance system for budgeting, trend analysis, reliability, and inventory management.
  • Provide HT cover when necessary, following proper training and assessment.
  • Conduct RCA on component failures and implement modifications to improve reliability and performance.
  • Estimate costs for improvement projects and prepare capital requests.
  • Participate in all stages of capital projects, including pre-delivery inspections and commissioning.
  • Engage with suppliers, conduct audits, and visit supplier premises as needed.
  • Mentor and train staff on engineering practices and maintenance issues.
  • Measure plant reliability via uptime, OEE, and lost opportunity.
  • Achieve performance targets and KPIs for specific roles.
  • Maintain self-motivation and pursue personal development.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and long-term solutions provision.
  • Possess multi-skilled capabilities across engineering trades.
  • Understand health, safety, and environmental procedures and systems.
  • Plan and organize engineering tasks, often involving contractors.
ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES
  • Maintenance experience in automated continuous process environments, including PLC and HT systems.
  • Experience with Predictive and Preventative maintenance techniques.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Preferably HNC/NVQ 4 in an engineering discipline, or at least BTEC/ONC in relevant fields.
