Job summary

Tesco PLC in Leicester is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to maintain a safe, functional store environment across our sites. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a range of systems and equipment, prioritising safety and quality to keep store operations running smoothly.

You’ll work with a team, coordinate with external contractors, use mobile devices to update schedules, and contribute to continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• ONC or equivalent required.
• Full driving license required.
• Health & Safety awareness essential.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Office 365 knowledge required.
• Completion of relevant technical training modules.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate repairs with external contractors to ensure first-time fixes.
• Work with the team to deliver quality service and maintain store facilities.
• Maintain high energy and efficiency while juggling tasks.
• Support the management team to keep stores operating smoothly.
• Minimise disruption to customers during repairs.
• Follow planned work schedules to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Share best practices with team members and colleagues.
• Carry out general day-to-day store and property maintenance.

As a Maintenance Technician at Tesco across Leicester and surrounding areas, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remains a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You'll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly., As a Maintenance Technician your specific responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks. To thrive in this role, you will need to:

• Confidently Interact with External Contractors: Coordinating repairs seamlessly.
• Work Collaboratively with the Team: Be a great colleague who understands the importance of quality service.
• Sustain High Energy Levels: Juggling tasks while maintaining efficiency.
• Assist the Management Team: Keeping our stores operating smoothly by maintaining equipment and facilities.
• Minimize Customer Disruption: Coordinating repairs with minimal impact on our valued customers.
• Responsibilities will include;
• Ensuring all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
• Following the planned work schedule to achieve first time fix, improving efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Working closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
• General day to day store and property maintenance.
• Using mobile devices; phone and tablet, to drive the best approach in work completion and updates.
• Representing the Tesco brand by demonstrating our core values (serving our customers, communities and planet a little better every day), maintaining a positive attitude & taking pride in wearing the Tesco uniform.
• Attending local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.

Supporting a diverse and inclusive culture. As a vital part of our Maintenance team, you will demonstrate enthusiasm for maintaining high standards. With previous experience in a maintenance, engineering, or construction environment, you will be digitally confident using a tablet to view daily work schedules and manage emails.
