Job summary

Tesco Maintenance Technician across Bournemouth and Poole, you’ll perform planned and reactive maintenance on store systems and equipment to keep the store safe and welcoming for customers and colleagues. This hands-on role requires proactive problem solving, strong teamwork, and a commitment to high standards.

You’ll coordinate with external contractors, use tablets to view daily schedules, attend meetings, and uphold Tesco values as part of a trusted retail brand.

About the role

As a Maintenance Technician at Tesco across Bournemouth and Poole, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remains a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You'll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly. Your work will directly impact the shopping experience of thousands of customers every day. You'll use your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently, always prioritising safety, compliance, and quality. This is a hands‑on role that requires a proactive mindset, strong problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high standards. You will be responsible for

As a Maintenance Technician your specific responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks. To thrive in this role, you will need to:

  • Confidently Interact with External Contractors: Coordinating repairs seamlessly.
  • Work Collaborativel y with the Team: Be a great colleague who understands the importance of quality service.
  • Sustain High Energy Levels: Juggling tasks while maintaining efficiency.
  • Assist the Management Team: Keeping our stores operating smoothly by maintaining equipment and facilities.
  • Minimize Customer Disruption: Coordinating repairs with minimal impact on our valued customers.
  • Ensuring all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
  • Following the planned work schedule to achieve first time fix, improving efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Working closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
  • General day to day store and property maintenance.
  • Using mobile devices; phone and tablet, to drive the best approach in work completion and updates.
  • Representing the Tesco brand by demonstrating our core values (serving our customers, communities and planet a little better every day), maintaining a positive attitude & taking pride in wearing the Tesco uniform.
  • Attending local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.
  • Supporting a diverse and inclusive culture.
You will need

As a vital part of our Maintenance team, you will demonstrate enthusiasm for maintaining high standards. With previous experience in a maintenance, engineering, or construction environment, you will be digitally confident using a tablet to view daily work schedules and manage emails.

  • ONC or equivalent
  • Full driving license
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Communication & Collaboration
  • Office 365 knowledge
  • Completed all technical training upskilling modules relevant to abilities.
