Job Description:
- The hours are 8am- 4pm with 30min paid break
- 1 weekend in 4 on call - Saturday and Sunday - then you get 2 days off in that week
We have an exciting role for our prestigious client who is seeking a Maintenance Technician. In this busy role, you will liaise with the Grounds and Maintenance Team, Contractors on site, and manage any ad hoc issues as they arise or escalate to the Facilities Manager as required.
This job includes working at heights, Lone Working, and Manual Handling.
Your role as Maintenance Technician is to:
- Ensure that planned and unplanned works are completed according to priority and schedule.
- Maintain and repair the fabric of the buildings, including redecoration, plumbing, carpentry, and upkeep of the grounds and external services as required.
- Install, move, and modify office furniture as required.
- Conduct property inspections to ensure that staff accommodation is well maintained.
- Arrange for gas, water, and electrical checks.
- Arrange contractors to get quotes and fix any maintenance issues.
- Carry out planned maintenance schedules (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.).
- Liaise with the pest control contractor to ensure the conditions of the contract are met and any issues are dealt with promptly.
- Coordinate with the Front of House Team for painting, redecoration, and general maintenance duties.
- Perform maintenance, repair, and installation work.
- Dispose of surplus equipment and materials, including hazardous chemicals and waste, following H&S procedures.
The person:
- Has GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
- Has previous maintenance experience in Facilities Management.
- Is highly organized, able to prioritize workload, negotiate conflicts, and delegate when needed.
- Maintains a flexible approach to duties and services, covering for team members and providing excellent service to staff, members, and visitors.
- Is proactive and able to meet deadlines.
- Has proven line management skills.
- Can work independently or as part of a team.
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Is computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet).
- Has experience with mechanical engineering and woodworking hand tools.
- Knows relevant Health and Safety requirements (e.g., COSHH).
- Holds IOSHH certification.
