Maintenance Engineer

Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire

Salary: GBP40,000

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

The Role for the Maintenance Engineer:

A great opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join a growing team at a newly built, modern manufacturing facility. This hands-on role involves supporting day-to-day engineering operations across manufacturing and packaging lines, focusing on technical problem-solving, routine maintenance, and operational support.

The position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment and enjoys troubleshooting and improving technical systems.

Key Responsibilities for the Maintenance Engineer:

  • Provide hands-on maintenance support for all site machinery, plant, and equipment.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.
  • Diagnose and repair breakdowns quickly to minimise production downtime.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors on maintenance and upgrade projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, faults, and compliance documentation.
  • Participate in site safety and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide equipment training and guidance to Operators to support safe and effective use.

What We're Looking For In a Maintenance Engineer:

  • Proven experience in a similar maintenance or engineering role, ideally within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards including GMP and Health & Safety practices.
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
