What you'll be doing:

  • Liaise with the Facilities manager to maintain efficient and effective plant operations
  • Prevent plant breakdowns by ensuring the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is carried out, ensuring that the risk of downtime is kept to a minimum ultimately maximising profit and revenue
  • Planning and scheduling all of the maintenance aspects of the IWMF, minimising disruption to operations and maximising uptime and availability
  • Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on a variety of plant and apparatus including Conveyors, baling equipment, Low Voltage equipment, motors, gearbox, mechanical drives, material handling equipment, plant auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and optical, magnetic and Eddy current separation technology
  • Responsible for checking the method statements of the contractors before they are permitted to carry out any work and ensuring site inductions and regular monitoring is carried out as per company policy and procedure

What we're looking for:

  • Extensive experience with recycling equipment including material handling, screening and shredding systems
  • Proven expertise with various separation technologies (mechanical, optical, magnetic) and processing equipment (conveyors, balers, motors)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance, and project management
  • Willingness to participate in emergency response and standby rotation for plant breakdowns
  • Thorough understanding of statutory inspection regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong technical skills in control systems (DCS/SCADA/HMI/PLC) combined with effective planning and people management abilities
