Maintenance Technician - Engineering Team

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join the Engineering Team at our food crumbing and coating production facility in Gainsborough. The successful candidate will perform PPM and reactive maintenance on assets to maximize plant availability and maintain production.

This is a permanent, full-time position operating on a 4-on, 4-off shift basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with health and safety policies and regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to minimize risks.
  • Lock off dangerous machinery or repair and notify accordingly.
  • Resolve breakdowns, carry out preventative maintenance (PMs), and work on projects to minimize downtime.
  • Perform PMs on offline machinery when possible.
  • Complete PM sheets thoroughly, noting observations, jobs, and recommendations, and file with the Maintenance Planner.
  • Gather information from production personnel to facilitate fault-finding.
  • Maintain accurate logs and computer system entries with all relevant information.
  • Communicate professionally with external contacts, reflecting the company’s profile.
Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • HNC, City & Guilds, or a time-served apprenticeship with appropriate engineering qualifications.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within a food manufacturing environment; experience in other manufacturing sectors is also valuable.
  • Electrically biased or multi-skilled.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is highly desirable.
  • Flexible, with a positive 'can-do' attitude.
