Job description

A Staffordshire based food manufacturing company are looking to recruit a mechanical Maintenance Technician for their production facility in Lichfield. As a Maintenance Technician you will be the technical specialist in your area of operation and rectify relatively basic mechanical faults to machinery, plant and equipment ensuring all food safety and hygiene procedures are maintained.

You will ensure all planned maintenance, asset care and remedial work is completed and logged as per the processes.

(This isn t a full maintenance engineer role, but future progression could lead you to becoming part of the Engineering team as a Maintenance Engineer.)

Role:

  • Mechanical Technician / Engineer
  • 4 on 4 off Days only 5am 5pm (no nights!)
  • Opportunity to work in a modern food manufacturer

Key responsibilities of Maintenance Engineer:

  • Organising setting up and monitoring machinery.
  • Rectify mechanical faults to machinery, plant and equipment, carry out alterations.
  • Lead process improvements and CI improvements.
  • Complete and update tasks as per process confirmation.
  • Assist to install plant and equipment when required.
  • Use CMMS as and when required.

Experience and skills required of Maintenance Engineer:

  • Relevant Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • Ideally hold relevant H&S qualifications
  • Previous engineering background.
  • Experience in a similar role or in a food production environment.
  • Able to understand engineering drawings and show ability to interpret information.
  • Basic and intermediate Food Hygiene Awareness.
