Job description

We have a new position for Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team in Ellesmere Port. The successful candidate will be accountable for all reactive and proactive maintenance work across the site, ensuring to deliver it in a timely manner and to the highest possible standards.

Shifts

Week 1: Monday to Friday 6.00am – 2.30pm
Week 2: Monday to Friday 2.30pm to 10.00pm

The role will involve the installation, maintenance, improvement and repair of all plant and equipment ensuring production efficiency can be met within a safe well-presented facility. Respond to technical issues affecting production and maintain electrical and mechanical services through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).

Main Duties:
  • Attend breakdowns, identify faults and problem solve, with minimal downtime to production.
  • Carry out diagnosis of faults, the maintenance, and repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner and return equipment to operational service.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is carried out with due regard to the safety of employees adhering to relevant regulations.
  • Provide reactive and planned maintenance.
  • Report breakdown causes, equipment faults and concerns to management.
  • Assist with the moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipment.
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules as necessary.
  • Plan and prioritise workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
  • Complete Daily Maintenance job sheets and Preventative Maintenance records.
  • To help build and maintain a cost-effective spare parts store.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a qualified, Multi-Skilled Engineer or Technician, with previous working experience gained in a Production environment.
  • Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 2 in Engineering.
  • A minimum of two years’ post apprenticeship experience.
  • Electrically biased.
  • 17th Edition.
  • Knowledge of PLCs/Control panel diagnostics and schematic drawings.
  • Must have the ability to work on their own initiative and be a confident decision maker.
  • Must be a flexible individual as some overtime working will be required.
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure and work independently with minimal supervision.
