Job summary

A facilities management company based in England is seeking a skilled Fabric Engineer to ensure timely completion of Reactive Works and preventative maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in carpentry, plumbing, and various maintenance skills, alongside a valid driving licence. This role involves a significant contribution to contract efficiency and service delivery, with on-call duties approximately once every four weeks.

Qualifications

  • Time-served Fabric engineer with a maintenance background.
  • Experienced in various maintenance skills and safety documentation.
  • Must have a current, valid driving licence.

  • Ensure Reactive Works orders and PPMs are completed within SLAs & KPIs.
  • Support implementation of integrated service delivery.
  • Plan, inspect, and carry out repairs or preventative maintenance.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Ensure all delegated Reactive Works orders and PPMs are completed within the contract-defined time SLAs & KPIs.
  • The successful candidate must provide a significant contribution to overall efficiency, effectiveness and contract profitability and must, therefore, play its part in the overall delivery of service.
  • The candidate will support with the implementation of an integrated approach for the delivery of all contracted services ensuring that all works are delivered safely on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • On call cover on average 1 in 4 weeks.
  • Plan, inspect and carry out repairs or preventative maintenance as required and respond to breakdowns in a timely fashion.
  • Duties to include building fabric repairs, small plumbing, joinery.
  • Assist the maintenance team with any other facilities work as required.
  • Provide quotations for any works recommended.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that a safe system of work is followed prior to the commencement of the work activity.
  • Ensure that work activities are properly carried out.
  • Ensure that sites are kept to high standards, to ensure all works are completed, and provide general handyperson services including L8.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, cleaners and security to ensure the facilities management of site is carried out effectively.
  • Provide a callout response for the client as detailed on the callout rota, on average 1 in 4 weeks.
Qualifications
  • Time-served Fabric engineer with a maintenance background.
  • Experienced skills in Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting Decorating, Door Hanging, Carpet/Lino repairs, Glazing Repairs, Masonry Repairs, Locksmiths, Tiling, and ceiling grids/tiles.
  • Sound knowledge of understanding and developing safety documentation to ensure site safety procedures are always followed.
  • Legionella Awareness.
  • CSCS Skills card.
  • Must have a current, valid driving licence
  • IT Literate - Basic understanding of Excel & Microsoft products
