Qualifications

  • Completed an apprenticeship in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in a process, production, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all planned maintenance inspections to a high standard.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.
  • Modify and improve plant equipment to maximize performance.
  • Uphold safe working practices and complete dynamic risk assessments.
  • Update CMMS with accurate information on maintenance activities.
  • Provide updates on maintenance compliance in meetings.
  • Assist with new installations and engineering projects.

Job description

Unknown Resourcing are looking for experienced Maintenance Technicians to join our Engineering client based in Teesside, North East. The Maintenance Technicians will be a key player in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the engineering plant. Your primary responsibilities will be to deliver planned maintenance schedules and to plan and execute both reactive and corrective work. This role requires excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to work effectively, either independently or as part of a team, to minimize production downtime.

The successful applicants will support making a real impact on global CO2 emissions by turning waste into valuable resources. Full-time rewarding positions available for highly motivated Maintenance technicians with strong electrical and mechanical skills.

Day Shift: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
  • Planned Maintenance: Complete all planned maintenance inspections and ensure that work is performed to a high standard.
  • Reactive and Corrective Work: Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions, ensuring that the right tools, parts, and materials are readily available.
  • Equipment Improvement: Modify and improve plant equipment as necessary to maximize availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Safety: Uphold safe working practices at all times and complete dynamic risk assessments when required.
  • CMMS Administration: Update and administer the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with accurate information on all maintenance activities.
  • Collaboration: Attend operational review meetings to provide updates on maintenance compliance and ongoing improvement plans.
  • Project Work: Assist with new installations, refurbishments, and other engineering projects.
Maintenance Technician Requirements
  • Education: Completed an apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3) in an appropriate engineering discipline. An HNC, City & Guilds, or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a process, production, or manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems and safety, as well as a solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • CMMS: Experience with CMMS systems and a proactive maintenance strategy.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and diagnostic skills, with the ability to think logically and decisively.
