Mechanical Technician
Location: Hams Hall
Duration: 3 Months
Contract Type: Temporary
Rate: Basic: £24.15 - Overtimes £36.23/£48.30

About the Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to support workshop-based maintenance activities for a 3-month contract. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a mechanical bias and a strong background in maintenance within industrial or energy sectors.

12hr shifts, on a shift pattern

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with routine and reactive maintenance involving machine tools in a workshop setting.
- Support mechanical and/or electrical maintenance tasks, including tooling.
- Diagnose faults and repair breakdowns to minimise operational disruption.
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Quality, and Environmental procedures.
- Safely use and maintain workshop tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members and contractors to meet shared goals.
- Take part in training to enhance technical skills relevant to the role.
- Prepare workshop and materials for scheduled maintenance activities.
- Follow purchasing procedures for maintenance consumables under guidance.

Key Requirements:

- Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance practices (mechanical bias preferred).
- Minimum 2–3 years post-apprenticeship experience in a maintenance role.
- Familiarity with risk assessments, safety documentation, and workshop procedures.
- Experience in maintaining plant equipment in a workshop environment.
