Job Purpose
To provide hands-on engineering support to the business. Fault finding, installation, and repair will also be undertaken.
Main Responsibilities/Job Accountabilities
- Undertake planned maintenance schedules and machine breakdown repairs, utilising the planned maintenance schedule and spreadsheet job capture system, predominantly within an injection moulding environment.
- Undertake repairs to general site, buildings, and supporting plant including running new services and installations.
- Where appropriate, undertake other tasks suitable to skill, experience, and qualifications (such as electrical fault finding and PLC fault finding).
- Pro-actively support the business by offering advice and suggestions for improvement opportunities where appropriate.
- Work closely with Process Engineering to provide timely solutions to process issues.
- Work closely with the quality department to reduce scrap and rework.
- Always ensure that relevant EH&S guidelines are adhered to, undertaking compliance audits.
- Work closely with the production department to improve uptime, reliability, and efficiencies.
- Undertake installation work for new products, processes, and equipment.
- Develop and create new jigs and fixtures where required, operating milling machines, lathes, grinders, and drills, as well as arc and gas welding.
- Engage in site projects from concept through to completion, attending meetings and providing supporting data and advice.
- Support in the development of skills to team members and other departments.
Person Specification- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team or on own initiative.
- Mechanical and electrical engineering skills and experience required.
- Good attention to detail.
- Flexible approach to working.
- Strong team player.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Hands-on with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to work within very tight deadlines.
- Quick learner.
Hours and SalaryMonday - Thursday 7:30am - 4pm
Friday 7am - 1:30pm
