Supporting the Accommodation Maintenance Team at The University of the West England (UWE), you will join a team responsible for completing both pre-planned and reactive remedial repairs and maintenance to the internal and external fabric of a wide variety of assets.

Overview

  • Working as part of the Accommodation Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for maintaining high-quality buildings, carrying out repairs and maintenance, both internal and external, to student accommodation.
  • You will play a key role in planning and completing a range of works associated with minor joinery, tiling, drainage, finishes, flooring, etc.
  • Complete reactive and remedial repairs as directed by the Helpdesk, including planning and executing works related to joinery, tiling, drainage, minor roof repairs, finishes, plastering, flooring, and other building fabric repairs, depending on relevant experience.
  • Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high-profile client, ensuring high standards in all aspects of your work.
  • Use your initiative to solve technical problems related to reactive maintenance, sourcing parts and materials, and seeking manufacturer support when needed.
  • Carry out all works within agreed timescales, complying with current regulations and contract specifications.
  • Maintain accurate reports and records, including logs and risk control measures.
  • Utilize PDAs or electronic devices to complete work orders efficiently.
  • Liaise closely with the Helpdesk to ensure prompt response to all work requests, whether working independently or as part of a team.
  • Always observe health and safety regulations, including conducting risk assessments for each task.
  • Engage professionally with clients daily, representing the company courteously and effectively.
  • Qualifications: NVQ or equivalent in Building Maintenance.
  • Experience in providing high-level customer service.
  • Solid understanding of maintenance tasks within Facilities Management or Construction.
  • Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and complete administrative tasks accurately and punctually.
