Job summary

AO Retail Limited is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our distribution centres safe, efficient, and running smoothly. This full-time permanent role is based in Crewe with travel to other sites as needed.

You'll perform planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, minor works, and ensure all testing/certification is completed. Strong electrical qualifications and experience with 3-phase systems are preferred. Benefits and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• C&G 2382 (18th Edition) qualification is preferred.
• Level 3 electrical qualification (e.g. C&G 2365) or equivalent.
• Experience working with 3-phase electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Keep on top of planned maintenance (PPMs) and hit agreed timelines.
• Diagnose faults quickly and fix them properly.
• Prioritise jobs to ensure right tasks are done at the right time.
• Flag when something can't be repaired and recommend the best fix.
• Carry out repairs, installations and minor works across sites.
• Complete testing and certification where needed.
• Carry out site surveys and write clear, useful reports.

Job description

If you're the kind of person who spots a problem and gets it sorted, this could be right up your street. We're looking for a Maintenance Technician to help keep our distribution centres safe, efficient, and running like clockwork. You'll be part of our Estate Operations team, working hands-on across our sites and keeping everything in top shape-while making sure any contractors we use deliver the same high standards.

Salary: £27,500.00 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Job Type: Full time permanent contract

Location: Crewe - travel to other sites will be required on an ad hoc basis to support maintenance activities or project work

Here’s What You Can Expect To Be Doing:

• Keeping on top of planned maintenance (PPMs) and hitting agreed timelines
• Jumping on faults quickly, diagnosing issues, and fixing them properly
• Prioritising jobs so the right things get done at the right time
• Flagging when something can't be repaired and recommending the right fix
• Carrying out repairs, installations, and minor works across our sites
• Completing testing and certification where needed
• Carrying out site surveys and writing clear, useful reports
• Looking after your tools and making sure everything's safe to use
• Ordering parts when needed to keep things moving

A Few Things About You (ideal but not essential):

• C&G 2382 (18th Edition)
• Level 3 electrical qualification (e.g. C&G 2365 or equivalent)
• Experience working with 3-phase electrics

It'd be great if you also have:

• Experience completing electrical certification
• City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection)
• Time served or solid experience in a similar role
